Dick Augustine

Dick Augustine has two and a half tons of mini-pretzels he wants to get rid of. But before people think he's giving them away, his supplies are the result of a 12-year-long business journey that has culminated in putting a different taste on the snack food market. Called "Snaffles'' the product is a hot and spicy mini sourdough pretzel.

Packaged in two-ounce bags bearing the red, orange and yellow Snaffles name and logo, Augustine has been working to get his product into stores and vending machines.

"We want to move them out quickly. In the end, we might get pennies in profit from each bag we sell. Our mission is to rock the snack food industry with a new and unique gourmet flavoring,'' he said.

Augustine, a painter and jewelry maker by trade, whose family settled Addison, resides in his family home, a large brick farmhouse built in the 1840s.
